Spring into Spring – Ombré Jumper, White Shirt & Bows

Hi Everyone,

I haven’t done an outfit related post in so long. These photos were taken a while back when  I used to randomly get inspired to dress up and ask my niece to take my photos. (Thank you Aleyley) I absolutely love this outfit and could wear it everywhere.

Is it me or do you just feel so much better about yourself when you are dressed in an awesome outfit?

Outfit Details:

Necklace: Ottoman Treasure (Thank you to my dearest friend Dee for this beautiful necklace. It is a little heavy but worth the pain because it looks amazing with everything.

Jumper: Kmart

Shirt: Op Shop

Skirt: David Jones

Bag: Typo

I am actually wearing  a men’s jumper but I got a smaller size and folded it up to make it a “cropped” jumper.  I always check the men’s section for awesome pieces like this one. It is  generally cheaper and the smaller sizes are usually available.

And you have probably seen this shirt in one to many posts. So it is kinda obvious how much I love it.  My favourite all time combo for all occasions would have to be:

Over sized shirt + Cropped Jumper +Pencil Skirt

Thank you to my darling friend Selda for this amazing gift. It goes perfect with everything and everyone knows I love a well structured bag with double straps. I have linked the bag below so if you are looking for an amazing laptop or uni bag, go ahead and check it out.

Summer Lovin’ – Floral Blazer, White Shirt & Emerald Skirt

Hi Everyone,

WOW!

I can’t believe it has been five months since my last post. What can I say, life just got in the way and blogging was thrown on the back burner. At the end of the day, blogging is my hobby and unfortunately I have not prioritized it well.

I am happy to share that I am currently employed and doing the job I love. Over the past five months, it has been difficult to balance work, school, family and friends since I have been working almost everyday. As it is approaching holiday season, I have countless special occasions coming up and I only thought it was right to share my outfits/ideas on my blog.

I had taken these photo months ago but did not want to post them without writing anything to accompany it.

Outfit Details:

Blazer: Cotton On

Shirt: Op Shop

Skirt: Op Shop

Bag: H&M

Shoes: Rubi Shoes

I absolutely LOVE this skirt!

I can’t remember if I posted about it previously on my blog but it is a favorite.

High wasited skirts are so flattering and I believe they make me look slim. And who doesn’t want to look and feel skinny?

A white shirt like mentioned on numerous occasions is a MUST HAVE! It would be an understatement if I say it goes with everything. When wearing a collared shirt, a statement and extravagant necklace turn your outfit from day wear to evening wear in seconds.

    Blazers

If it was up to me I would wear them every day. If you have been following my blog from the start, you will know that once the word ‘Blazer’ is mentioned, my heart skips a beat. I have provided the links to my previous posts about this amazing clothing type.

Bags with double straps are the new thing. FINALLY!

Use the small straps for an elegant look and if in a rush, throw over the long straps  and run. Well that’s what happens to me.

P.S. As you can tell, most of my wardrobe is from the second hand store. I am looking into doing a post about tips and tricks to shopping at an Op shop. If you have any questions, leave them in comments!

Family Weekend Getaway to Inverloch – Photo Diary

Hi Everyone!

This blog post includes photos from my weekend getaway to Inverloch. During the Labour Day long weekend I was fortunate enough to go away for a few days to a holiday house with my amazing family.  Inverloch is a seaside town located in Victoria. As it is on the edge, you can see spectacular views from everywhere you go. Those few days away were a much needed relaxation period away from many things such as university and social media. You realise how attached you are to technology and social media once you go to a place that does not have cellular reception.

*******

This holiday was an amazing chance to spend time with my family. We spent a lot of timefishing and, surprisingly enough, I was much better at it than I expected. I caught three whiting fish! My brother, dad and I enjoyed fishing so much the day before that we woke up at 6am to go fishing again. Much to our advantage, we caught over 10 fish over the two days.

aaaaaaThese small towns have quirky and unique shops that have an amazing display of carefully thought out items. I have taken photos from one shop that was truly my favourite. They used science lab equipment to create beautiful home decor. There were beakers used as candles, flasks for pot plants and test tubes for flowers. It such a clever idea that would add a different feel to one’s house.  DSC_4005DSC_4009DSC_4006DSC_4008

While I was taking photos for my blog, a man stopped me to ask why I was taking the photos. I informed him that it was for my blog, he handed me a soap as a present. This man’s kind gesture touched my heart!

While we were away there were events in the town center that were quite entertaining. There were markets and parades which was an opportunity for the town center to be blocked off. The market was a great chance for exquisite sellers to showcase their amazing creations such as soaps, jewellery, candles and much, much more.

My parents really wanted to go somewhere that had fresh organic produce. I had my doubts because we were located right next to the beach. But with the help of Google, I found a farm that sells organic produce and has a cafe as well. Unfortunately, we went in the late afternoon which meant that most of the produce had run out.

Autumn Neutrals – Black Coat & Blue Pants

Hi everyone!

Following on from my previous post, you will know that the weather is very chilly here in  Melbourne, Australia.  Here is another quick outfit I put together that I will definitely be rocking throughout winter.

I bought this long coat from a market. At the time of purchase , it was not my favourite style and it had additional features such as excess material on the sleeves which I absolutely hated. Once I brought it home, I gave it a good wash and hung it while it dried to prevent creasing. After this point, I sat in front of the sowing machine and customised this beautiful coat into a style I would adore. I removed the belt as well as the excess material and shortened the sleeves. This just goes to show, if there is an item of clothing you like but aren’t 100% sure about it, try to look at how you could add or remove some things to transform it into a timeless piece.

Op Shop Chic – Vintage Sweater & Red Coat

Hi Everyone!

A couple weeks ago I was able to work with my beautiful friend Summy who is currently in the process of finishing her photography course. This was a great opportunity for her to get some experience with lighting, camera angles and finding locations to run future photo shoots. Likewise, I was given the chance to put a few outfits together and receive the photos for my blog.

Summy’s Photography Page

Fortunately, I was given a couple days notice before this photo shoot. This gave me the opportunity to put together some outfits that would not only photograph wonderfully but also go along with my theme. You have probably seen from the title that this outfit is predominantly from the Op Shop. For those of you who have never heard of the terms Op Shop, it is basically referring to a charity shop or thrift store.

Op Shops are not only cheap but also allow you to wear one-off pieces and the chances of you running into someone with the same outfit/clothing is quite slim. My style is occasionally quirky, sometimes extravagant and most of the time simple. And lets just say that all my styles are catered for when I shop at Op Shops. I am not in any way ashamed about the second hand shenanigans. As long as you give the items a thorough clean and avoid buying specific items such as jeans.

Over-sized white shirts and crop sweaters are the best. They are so versatile, if you change either the the jumper or shirt it basically transforms the outfit. The current jumper that I am wearing is not a crop, I just folded it up. *QUICK TIP*

Ahhhh!  Can we just admire these pants and how slim they are? I absolutely love them and would wear them everyday if I could because they are so flattering.

Black-Elegant-Comfortable

These should be the words used to describe at least one pair of shoes in ones wardrobe. These shoes are timeless. They are suede and just tie everything together in this outfit.

Special thank you to my lovely friend Summy for these amazing snaps!

You should all follow her page (linked above) for spectacular and original photographs.

I loved putting this outfit together and would love to continue this series of Op Shop Chic.

Autumn Neutrals – Camel Coat

Hi Everyone!

Finalllllyyyyy!

I am back to blogging and posting about one of my favoruite topics which is FASHION. It has has been too long since my last post. The weather is cooler as it is now Autumn in Australia. It is time to take out the winter warmers to be able to fight this weather.

Outfit Details:

Scarf: Burberry Pattern scarf from Turkey

Jumper: Kmart

Coat: H&M coat from market

Jeans: Kmart

Bag: H&M

Shoes: Rubi Shoes

2

Camel coats.

Everyone has one or everyone wants one. I wanted one until I found it at a market for only $10.

I decided to pair this coat with a grey long woolen jumper and dark denim. These two items can work interchangeably with any other coloured coat. I would usually wear this outfit with a pair of boots but I haven’t bought the right pair yet. I am quite picky and I want to buy the right pair so they last throughout the cold weather.

Like mentioned in previous posts, my bag is from H&M for only $5.

Back To Basics [Stripes]

Hi Everyone!

This will be the last post from my ‘Back To Basics’ series.

Here are my previous posts:

Back To Basics [Khaki]

Back To Basics [Black & Grey]

Back To Basics [Polka Dot]

STRIPES

Some people hate them and others love them. I definitely love them! I do not know if the whole rumor about horizontal stripes making you look wider is true but that does not bother me.I generally choose an outfit in the order of whether it is 1) comfortable, 2) stylish and 3) flattering.

image1Both of the skirts in this post are pleated which are so flattering and I love the flowy effect. The navy skirt was my mothers and as soon as I saw it I fell in love. There is nothing wrong with looking through your mum’s wardrobe, you will be surprised at what you would find especially if they have kept their old outfits and vintage pieces.

image2I paired the second outfit with a bright ombre scarf. This breaks up the monochrome effect in the outfit. Tan coloured shoes and bags go with EVERYTHING! Like stated in the previous post, this bag is from H&M for ONLY $5. Also, these shoes are from Rubi Shoes for about $10.
