Spring into Spring – Ombré Jumper, White Shirt & Bows

Hi Everyone,

I haven’t done an outfit related post in so long. These photos were taken a while back when  I used to randomly get inspired to dress up and ask my niece to take my photos. (Thank you Aleyley) I absolutely love this outfit and could wear it everywhere.

Is it me or do you just feel so much better about yourself when you are dressed in an awesome outfit?

Outfit Details:

Necklace: Ottoman Treasure (Thank you to my dearest friend Dee for this beautiful necklace. It is a little heavy but worth the pain because it looks amazing with everything.

Jumper: Kmart

Shirt: Op Shop

Skirt: David Jones

Bag: Typo

I am actually wearing  a men’s jumper but I got a smaller size and folded it up to make it a “cropped” jumper.  I always check the men’s section for awesome pieces like this one. It is  generally cheaper and the smaller sizes are usually available.

And you have probably seen this shirt in one to many posts. So it is kinda obvious how much I love it.  My favourite all time combo for all occasions would have to be:

Over sized shirt + Cropped Jumper +Pencil Skirt

Thank you to my darling friend Selda for this amazing gift. It goes perfect with everything and everyone knows I love a well structured bag with double straps. I have linked the bag below so if you are looking for an amazing laptop or uni bag, go ahead and check it out.

Autumn Neutrals – Black Coat & Blue Pants

Hi everyone!

Following on from my previous post, you will know that the weather is very chilly here in  Melbourne, Australia.  Here is another quick outfit I put together that I will definitely be rocking throughout winter.

I bought this long coat from a market. At the time of purchase , it was not my favourite style and it had additional features such as excess material on the sleeves which I absolutely hated. Once I brought it home, I gave it a good wash and hung it while it dried to prevent creasing. After this point, I sat in front of the sowing machine and customised this beautiful coat into a style I would adore. I removed the belt as well as the excess material and shortened the sleeves. This just goes to show, if there is an item of clothing you like but aren’t 100% sure about it, try to look at how you could add or remove some things to transform it into a timeless piece.

Back To Basics [Polka Dot]

Hi Everyone!

If you have been up to date with my posts, you will know that I am currently doing a ‘Back To Basics’ series with the clothing from my wardrobe.

Here are my previous posts:

Back To Basics [Khaki]

Back To Basics [Black & Grey]

I tried to pick outfits that include polka dots and may be casual as well as formal by simply switching certain things such as the bag or shoes. I think that both of these outfits can be dressed up or dressed down which is always a plus!

This pleated polka dot skirt is one of my favorite things in my wardrobe.

If it were up to me I would wear it everyday.

If I have difficultly picking an outfit, this skirt is a definite pick-me-up.  The first outfit looks and feels a bit monochrome, a little too matchy-matchy but you an just change the hijab or shoes to a solid colour such as blue or purple.   I would say that out of the two outfits this would be considered the  ‘casual’ outfit.

Can we all just acknowledge the amazing colour of this polka dot top?

I am a sucker for anything with the colour mustard.

The skirt and top are both from the Op Shop. I love how you can find exquisite pieces that are a possible a one-off and you wont run into anyone wearing the same thing. A good wash and these items are good as new. You can switch the cardigan for a blazer and bag for a clutch and it will become a perfect formal outfit. I would definitely wear the second outfit to a wedding or birthday dinner.

I know that some people have difficulty styling clothes with patterns. I usually go with one patterned item per outfit but on the odd occasion I may mix two of the same pattern or completely different ones. When you have a system in mind, this makes it easier to style the item.

This is how I do it but you can do what best suits you and your style.

I have a few more ‘Back To Basics’ posts coming up.

If you have any suggestions for upcoming posts, please don’t hesitate to leave them in the comments.

Back To Basics [Black & Grey]

Hi Everyone!

I hope that you are all having a lovely week ❤

As I was walking to work on Saturday, I was thinking about upcoming blog posts to create. I was wearing the outfit with the grey top and black pants, and I thought about doing a “Back To Basics” series of posts. I was loving how my outfit was so simple yet classy. Likewise, I am going through a phase where I am not wearing as much pattern or floral as I did before. I call it a phase because as soon as I think of an outfit involving patterns or floral I will just throw it on.

What do you think of when someone talks about basics or essentials in their wardrobe?

I definitely think of a pair of black slacks/pants. These may be slim fit, high waisted or boyfriend style which are a loose fit.

I also think of a simple black skirt. This can be high waisted or pencil. And that may be knee-length or maxi. It just depends on personal preference.

Everyone MUST have a black, white or grey simple top that can go with everything. They are amazing to have around especially during winter.

Finally, a pair of black shoes that are comfortable whether they are flats, wedges or heels.

I will match these outfits with a blazer for formal occasions or a cardigan for casual times.

I would usually wear the outfit with the pants during the day to work, shopping or  lunch. On the other hand, I will wear the skirt to evening events such as a wedding. I will just change the simple top for a shirt and switch the bag for a clutch/purse. 22

I realised that body chains are so in right now! I wish I had a body chain to go with this outfit. They are so affordable but every time I go shopping I forget to get one. DSC_00431

Similarly, can we just talk about how amazing STATEMENT NECKLACES are these days, especially the Ottoman themed necklaces!  They are just to die for! I think that this piece of jewellery will take this outfit to a whole new level.

Moss Green & Floral – OOTN

Hi everyone!

I hope everyone is having a lovely week! As I am on holidays now I have a lot of spare time. This calls for one thing and one thing only. To make my own clothes! My mum buys a variety of different fabrics types, lengths and styles. Instead of letting the fabrics just sit there and having the sowing machine collect a layer of dust, I thought I would make the most of the resources I have. The skirt in the following pictures is one of my creations. It is so difficult to find skirts that are the right size, shape, style, colour or ones that do not have slits. This was my second attempt and it is certainly the best out of the two I have made. Hopefully when I gain a little more experience, I will do a tutorial on how to do it.

Khaki & Floral – OOTD

Hi everyone!

I enjoy sharing photos of my outfits and links to similar items  on my blog. I hope that it is some sort of help and possibly inspiration for my viewers. Here are my thoughts and a little bit of extra information about some of the items in my outfit:    This outfit was a bit random.

I firstly established that I wanted to wear these harem pants because they are loose-fitting and perfect for a hot summers day. It is so random that I started planning my outfit around pants but I tend to do that a lot.  They didn’t have an elastic at the bottom, I added it myself because I found that it looked better.

I bought this purse from Cotton On for ONLY $5! It is definitely my favorite purchase of the week. There are many more designs and I have linked one of them below.

I bought this maxi cardigan a couple of years ago. I LOVE how is so comfortable.

These sandals are in style right now and thankfully sold everywhere so they are extremely easy to find in store and online. I don’t know if it’s the pair that I have but they are uncomfortable to wear for a long period of time.

Also, a MASSIVE thank you to my beautiful niece Aleyna for taking these lovely photos! She is my number one supporter and also my biggest critic. Love you!
